Eyeliner is a cosmetics  used to open up and define the eyes by tracing their shape.

Buying Guide

Eyeliner is one of those products that you want to pay a little more to get a higher quality product. They can last quite some time so they are not that expensive in the long run.
The most common color is black but there are a variety of more subtle shades of brown and variety of other colors as well.
Most come in either the pencil or liquid form. The pencil is lighter in color and usually can be applied to both top and bottom lid. Liquid eyeliner is heavier and has a more dramatic look. Liquid eyeliner is usually only applied to the upper lid. Other less common types include powdered, cream and mechanical eyeliner.
Application
Use a table to steady your hand and apply the eyeliner to your half closed lid in small connected dashes.
If you are using a liquid liner start by putting three small dots on your upper eyelid right along the lashes. With a pencil eyeliner connect the dots with a smooth motion. As you get better with the liquid eyeliner you can stop using the pencil to connect the dots and just apply the liquid eyeliner in a line.

  1. Step1

Flip through bridal magazines and search for pictures that capture your ideal bridal look. Keep these pictures on hand for guidance.

  1. Step 2

Consider having your makeup done professionally. If you decide to do it yourself, have a free professional makeover before the wedding and ask for detailed instructions on how to achieve your desired look.

  1. Step 3

Choose the most lightweight foundation possible while still getting the coverage you need because heavier foundations will look more obvious.

  1. Step 4

Wear waterproof eye makeup so that tears of joy or the heat of summer don’t make for streaks or smears.

  1. Step 5

Use various shades of shadow to add definition to your eyes, then add a hit of liner for drama. Resist the temptation to go for bold lines, bright colors or glitter, unless that’s your usual look.

  1. Step 6

Curl lashes for length and definition but skip the false eyelashes. You don’t want to risk having them peel off or rotate throughout the day.

  1. Step 7

Stick to a soft and delicate tone for lipstick, as bold or dark colors might be overpowering. Remember to match the hues in your blush to those in your lipstick.

  1. Step 8

Contour your face with blush or bronzer, even if it’s not part of your daily routine. It will give your skin a healthy glow and subtly define your features.

How to Apply Mascara

How to properly apply mascara. Are your mascara application with a three-step process:

Step 1: Wiggle the wand left to right at the base of lashes. It’s the mascara placed near the roots — not the tips — that gives the illusion of length.

Step 2: Pull the wand up and through lashes, wiggling as you go. The wiggling part is key: Wiggling separates lashes.

Step 3: In this final step (which I always skip), close the eye and place the mascara wand on top of lashes at the base and pull through to remove any clumps.

Steps on How to Apply Mascara Properly

  • Wiggle the mascara wand from left to right on the lashes and apply it evenly. Many women think that mascara placed on the tips of the lashes give the illusion of long length. But this is not so. Remember, it is the mascara placed near the roots of the lashes that make the lashes look longer and darker.

  • Make sure that you wiggle properly as it the wiggling part that separates the lashes from each other.

  • Do not forget closing the eye and placing the wand on the top of the lashes and pulling through to remove clumps, if there are any.

  • If still you find clumps, lash combs can be a great help. Some women find using lash combs clumsy while for others it is nothing less than a boon for keeping lashes free of globs. If you are among the category of women who do not find using lash combs handy, wipe the wand on a tissue to remove the blobs before you start applying mascara.

Concealer proves to be an important part of a make up kit of any woman. One can resort to a concealer for hiding those unwanted and unkind lines and marks that may emerge on your face just before the big day of your life.Despite being such an important tool, many women all over the world skip making use of the concealer. Reason – not knowing how to apply it perfectly.Using a concealer is not difficult, if one remembers some basic rules of applying.

1.Apply a concealer before you start applying make up.
2.Begin with applying several dots of the concealer under the eyes. Spread it evenly using the middle finger pad.

3.Apply it in small quantities and one coat at a time.
4.Do not tub concealer onto the face as it can result in some redness.

5.One should not hesitate tapping it on the other uneven parts of the face like the chin or around the nose, if the need be.

6.Remember the purpose of using a concealer before starting to apply. This will help you in deciding how much you need to put it.

7.Use a small brush with a fine tip for better results. A fine tip ensures that the concealer is properly applied to the targeted area.

8.Applying concealer on a pimple or an acne area is not as tricky as applying it beneath the eye to hide the dark circles. The area beneath the eye is very sensitive. Hence, make use of a moisturizing cream before applying the concealer there. Also use the pad of your ring finger so that you do not end up exerting more than the required force.
9.If you have a dry skin texture, use a liquid concealer.
10.Use a face cleanser for removing concealer rather than water.

  • When using dark shades of lip stick try to wear the rest of the make up light so as to have a balanced look. Heavy lip colour coupled with a heavy eye make up can make one look odd one out.

  • If you have plump lips, apply a lip liner just outside the natural lip line.

  • Avoid using a dark coloured liner with a light coloured lip shade, completely.

  • One can come out with amazing lip colours with blending. So if you have been gifted with a lip colour you don’t like, do not throw it away. Try mixing it with one of your favourite lip shades.

  • Use a creamier lipstick if the lips have thinned out due to old age.

There are certain chemical contents in make-up that cannot be removed by simple washing and so we need certain cosmetic products to help remove them. It is highly important that you don’t sleep with your make-up on especially eye make-up that could probably get inside your eyes. You can find a wide variety and different brands of eye makeup remover. If you are looking for alternatives some experts suggest the use of cloth moistened with lukewarm water or petroleum jelly. Baby oil is also a great way at removing eye make-up. Just placed a small amount on a cotton ball and gently rubbed your eyes to remove your eye  shadow, eye liner and mascara. If you frequently put on mascara using an oil based eye make-up remover would be very useful. It is essential to note that products for removing eye make-up should not be used to remove make-up on other parts of the face.

With regards the removal of other facial make-up, you could use a facial soap or cleanser. Wash your face thoroughly to ensure proper cleansing and to remove any traces of make-up. Other options aside from the facial cleanser include facial creams for make-up removal. Cleaning the face from make-up does not end with the washing, it is also important that you apply a toner to tone your skin and apply as well moisturizer to keep skin supple and soft. Moisture is very important to maintain healthy flawless skin.

Your face is one of the most important parts of our body and we need to ensure proper skin care to keep it flawless and healthy. Once in a while we cannot avoid but have occasional pimples, blackheads or white heads but with the right beauty regimen and discipline on your part, having great skin wouldn’t be that hard.

I have this MAC pigment in the smaller size (2.5 grams) that I got in this year’s holiday collection cool set. I bought all the sets . It’s too bright and sparkly to wear as a blush in my opinion. Also  they are super versatile use them for lipgloss, nailpolish whatever you can think of. Oh and if you dont like them in loose powder form you can press them in eyeshadow pans.

    APPLY FACIAL MAKEUP

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by lucia on 08-04-2010

When applying facial makeup, remember to go in order and to go slow. After all, it’s easier to put more on than it is to take some off. So put a little on, check how it looks, put a little more on, check, and so forth.

    Concealer

1.Apply small dots of concealer at a time.

2.Touch the concealer directly onto the blemish and blend well at the edges. Don’t apply more than two coats of concealer at a time, or it will look obvious that you’re trying to hide a blazing zit. Foundation should further hide the blemish.

    Foundation

1.For liquid foundation, you will need disposable cosmetic sponges and cotton swabs.

2.Dip a cotton swab into the bottle once and hold it over the bottle top to let the excess drain off. Then use the coated cotton swab like a crayon to draw a thin line across your forehead, down the center of your nose, across each cheek in a zigzag pattern, and across your chin. Dab a smidgen of foundation on your eyelids.

3.With a sponge in hand, smooth each line towards your hairline to gently blend the foundation into your skin. Make sure you get some on your jawline and neck, so it won’t appear as if you have a mask on.

4.With cream or powder foundation, use the puff or sponge that comes with it and gently smooth the makeup over your skin (including your jawline and neck) in even strokes towards your hairline.

5.Don’t apply more than two layers of foundation at once (or don’t blame us if you “melt” as the day goes on).

    Powder
1.After you put on foundation, lightly apply powder over your face to set it.

2.Carry a small powder compact with you during the day for shine emergencies, to touch up on your makeup, and to extract yourself from boring party conversations with the ever plausible, “Excuse me – I need to go powder my nose.”

    MAC Studio Finish Pressed Powder

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by lucia on 29-03-2010

MAC Studio Finish Pressed Powder has actually been replaced by a new product, Select Sheer Pressed Powder. The packaging looks similar for each of them; a sleek black compact without any adornments. It’s perfect for pulling out in public or keeping stashed in your bathroom drawer. While both seem to make your skin look silky and smooth, it seems that the replacement could be a little bit lighter, that is, sheerer in coverage.

This one was good for creating a flawless look without going too dewy on the oily skinned girls or giving too much or too little coverage for average skin. It was considered by most to be a medium coverage finish. It was good for daytime touch-ups as well as on its own as a foundation,It seems, though, that this product wasn’t as finally milled as the “new and improved” version.

Just as MAC Studio Finish Pressed Powder came with its own sponge, so does the Select Sheer version. Some people prefer to skip the sponge altogether (they could harbor bacteria, contributing to breakouts) and use a foundation or powder brush instead. That’s your call. If you’ve never had any problems using the sponge from your powder before, you probably won’t need to worry about it now.
